* Back to [Table of content](#Table-of-content)Calculator is an app to perform simple calculations. You can add, subtract, multiply and divide.
The app also has a scientific mode. But this is not covered in this quick instruction.
Imagine that you are at a coffee shop. You order a coffee for 1$ and a sandwich for 2$. You use the Calculator app on your iPhone to add the prices of your coffee and your sandwich.
- Go to the Home Screen of your iPhone.
- Strike with one finger down on your Home Screen. The Spotlight search appears on your screen.
- Type in the search field "Calculator". The first search result is the Calculator app.
- Tap on the first search result. The Calculator app is now started on your iPhone.
- Tap on the first number: 1
- Tap on the +
- Tap the second number: 2
- Tap the =
The result of 1 + 2 appears in the display. The result is 3.
Now you know how to add numbers with the Calculator app on your iPhone.
