Tiredness - marianyp/Genesis GitHub Wiki
Tiredness is a metric that increases over time and is displayed in your inventory. To sleep, your tiredness must reach 100%, which equates to 1 daylight cycle or 20 minutes. Tiredness itself has no negative effects. However, do keep in mind that phantoms still spawn after 3 or more days without sleep.
Tiredness can be disabled by setting the genesis:tiredness_rate game rule to 0. For more information, view the Game Rules wiki page.
🛏️ Straw Beds
Unlike regular beds, which reset your tiredness to 0%, Straw Beds only reduce it to 50%. This lets you maximize daylight, allowing for up to 30 consecutive minutes of daylight. As a result, though, Straw Beds will also give you the Poorly Rested status effect.
😴 Poorly Rested
Poorly Rested is a status effect that doesn't directly harm the player. Instead, it prevents you from sleeping in Straw Beds to stop players from cheesing the tiredness system. The status effect is removed once you sleep in a regular bed.
🌾 Farmer's Delight Compatibility
Farmer's Delight adds its own Straw Beds, which happen to be cheaper to craft than regular Straw Beds. To account for this, sleeping in one gives you Poorly Rested II.
Poorly Rested II is still harmless, but requires sleeping in a regular bed twice to fully remove the effect. Because of this, Farmer's Delight's Straw Beds are less effective for maximizing the amount of time you can spend in daylight.
