Portable chargers - marcone/teslausb GitHub Wiki
Most portable phone chargers turn off their output while being charged, but some support passthrough charging, meaning they can power another device while also being charged themselves. By putting such a charger between the TeslaUSB device and the car's USB port (which will likely require the use of a USB splitter or hub, a USB combiner and a power blocker), TeslaUSB can be powered while the car is off so it can complete archiving and/or provide access to its web interface, with the charger being recharged whenever the car is on, such as when driving.
The table below shows some models that have been tested. Note that without seamless output power, the TeslaUSB device will restart whenever the charger's input power is turned on or off (e.g. when the car powers off the USB port, the Pi will restart). Ideally, you would want a charger with seamless power output, but a UPS hat could also be used to bridge the brief power interruption.
