The additional hardware required for several MCUs can easily be implemented on a proto board. The below proto board implements the schematic and adds connectors and headers.
The above design uses a USB C breakout board with a USB C receptacle (female). The proto board connects all 4 GND and all 4 VCC pins. Many other options exist.
Additionally, it uses screw terminals to connect the consumer to the power provided by the USB power supply.
