[!CAUTION] ⚠️ The stock microSD cards (those that get shipped with the device) cause a lot of problems and can get corrupted/defect any time. They are very cheap quality and unreliable. Change them as soon as possible.

The R36S has 2 microSD card slots. Users can choose between a 1 card and a 2 card setup (explained in the guides).

• TF1 = OS Card Slot (right)

• TF2 = Roms Card Slot (left)

Any SD card should work in TF1 slot.

Not every card will work in the TF2 slot, please refer to the following spreadsheet.

• If the OS somehow gets corrupted or defect or if you break something while tinkering, it's easier to replace/re-flashing the cfw. No need to re-copy all the roms/scraped images.

• Your saves/retroarch configs are stored on the roms card. They are safe there in case a update goes wrong or the OS card fails.

• You can easily swap between cards, if you have more than more than one rom/OS card.

• You can swap rom cards between devices that have different display panels.
