Average current for other sample periods. Run life is based on a conservative 1600mAh battery rating (2400mV end voltage; see discarge test):
Period (s) | Avg. Current (uA) | Run Life (days) | Run life (years) |
---|---|---|---|
10 | 447.6 | 149 | 0.41 |
30 | 156.6 | 426 | 1.17 |
60 | 83.4 | 799 | 2.19 |
120 | 46.7 | 1427 | 3.91 |
300 | 24.7 | 2699 | 7.40 |
600 | 17.3 | 3842 | 10.53 |
Note that the self-life of an alkaline cell is typically 7 years. Therefore a sample period much greater than 5mins probably doesn't increase run-life significantly. These estimates do not consider self-discharge effects of the cell. Self discharge is rated in percent capacity per month. A reasonable model therefore might be an added 15 to 20uA average over the runtime of the cell. Considering 15uA self discharge, the following table can be used. Note the 5yr variance on the low duty ratio number. Accurately characterizing self-discharge is necessary to computing run-life with reasonable confidence.
