Mob Rarities

Mobs can spawn at different rarities, where higher rarities give higher bonuses to stats and loot. Mobs at a higher rarity also give more experience, and have a higher chance of spawning with affixes.

In regards to stats, mobs have innate stats that are multiplied by rarity and tier stat multipliers. For instance, all mobs have innate 12.5% elemental resistances. If an epic (Elite) mob was spawned in a tier 5 zone, that would be a 2.0x multiplier from the rarity, and a 3.0x multiplier from the tier. 12.5% * 2.0 * 3.0 = 75% elemental resists. Consequently, a Boss mob in a tier 5 zone would have 150% elemental resistances, capped at 75% (meaning you would need to penetrate at least 76% elemental resistances to have any effect).

The way affix chance works is the mob will roll for both affixes first, and if it fails, will then roll for a single affix.

Tiers

Maps and dimensions have a tier associated with them, increasing the strength of mobs and loot bonus, depending on their tier.

Tiers also determine the unique drop pool. Some uniques are only available at higher tiers!
