First Steps - mahjerion/Craft-to-Exile-Dissonance GitHub Wiki

Starting Out

Generally, the beginning of Craft to Exile [Dissonance] is very similar to vanilla Minecraft.

  1. Punch trees for wood.
  2. Craft a Crafting Table to complete the first quest and obtain some beginner equipment.
  3. Establish a base.
  4. Follow the quest guide (default hotkey: 'P')!

It is highly recommended that you use the in-game progression/quest log provided to you at the beginning of the game. In Craft to Exile [Dissonance], you are constantly on the move (with a base) in search of better loot and stronger mobs. You will progress from dimension to dimension until you reach the 'end game'.

If you're lost on how to build your character, just experiment! Don't worry about 'messing' up your spells and stats, as there are relatively cheap ways to respecialize. Otherwise, feel free to check out the Character Builds page!

There are a few other things you can do as well, such as setting up a MineColonies base, or cooking and exploring Create and Immersive Engineering. The associated quests for these are located in the 'Homestead' and 'Technology' chapters of the quest log.

Party Play

Craft to Exile [Dissonance] was intended for group play. Luckily, partying is implemented. Use '/slash party' to enable complete functionality of parties. Note: Quests cannot be team-synced yet.

  1. First of all you need to create a party with this command: /slash party create
  2. You will then need to invite the player to your party: /slash party invite <player>
  3. For your friend to join your party, they need to use: /slash party join <player>
  4. You will need to recreate your party every time you all relog.

Some things to note about partying:

  • Party experience share only applies to members within 100 blocks of the killer and within the same dimension.
  • For each additional party member, you will receive an additional 20% experience boost per kill. Eg. party of 3, a kill would provide 140% experience, which would be split 3 ways.
  • The bonus experience caps at an additional 100% experience (so 200% per kill), which is a party of 6. If a player leaves the vicinity or dimension, the split will be adjusted accordingly to the remaining nearby members.
  • Experience level penalty is determined on an individual basis. Experience is split, and then the penalty is calculated for each player based on their level difference to the mob.
