Primer

Author: Cinder

This build heavily focuses on the Damage over Time (or DoT) of the Bleed Mastery talent. The damage this does is greatly scaled through our high focus on physical attack damage, bow damage, and if you have the unique bow Righteous Sentience Puller you also gain damage through your health.

Pros:

  • High DoT damage ramping up around mid-game after gaining the Bleed Mastery talent.
  • High sustain due to attacks and DoT healing.
  • Range keeps you safe from harm.
  • Tons of abilities to choose from (a two hotbar build!).

Cons:

  • Slow start early with no bleed talent/DoT.
  • Balancing stats to be able to equip Health/Armor items can be difficult.
  • Talent tree nodes that you need are far away from each other.

Primary Damage Source

  • Arrow Barrage/Double Shot/Basic Attacks

Defensive Mechanism

  • DoT Lifesteal
  • Health and Armor
  • Dodge Rating (early-game)

Stats

Your stats are going to be dependent on what playstyle you're able to fit at the time. Early on, you're more than okay with adding a few points into Vit/Sta and then pumping the rest into Dex. Later on (or if you get Steady Hand), you want to focus on Vitality due to Righteous Sentience Puller, or Strength if you do not.

Masteries

  • Primary: Hunting
  • Secondary: Divine

Pre-Bleed:

Start working on your Mastery level in your spell tree (always keep the amounts of points you invested equal to your current level), start with a point in Double Shot. Double Shot is a great starter spell since you can quickly weave it in between basic attacks. Following the quest guide can get you to level 15 or so without many troubles early on.

Post-Bleed:

Once you can, start putting points into Arrow Barrage. Arrow Barrage is amazing at applying a lot of stacks of bleed. Once you have access to the Bleed node, you want to start transitioning your stats to the above stated. Any "Attack Spell" that states it can proc on-hit can also proc bleed, so be mindful of that in your rotations of skills. Be aware that the Wounds passive can also have a nice increase in DPS DoT from the buffs we will be getting in the Talent tree. You can also put points into Arrow Storm, which can apply bleed AND wounds stacks on large groups of enemies.

Equipment

Item stats to focus on are the following:

  • Dodge Rating (early)
  • Health/Armor (mid-late)
  • Energy/Energy Regen (Harmony suffix gives both!)
  • Mana/Mana Regen (Harmony suffix gives both!)
  • % Physical Attack Damage
  • x to x Attack Damage (eg. 50 - 150 Physical Attack Damage as a prefix)
  • x to stats (Eg. Vitality/Wisdom/Strength)

Focus on using bows since the Talent tree has a lot of nice bow clusters on our path.

What To Do After

Scale your Health/Armor for the off chance that you get the unique: Sentience Puller, which grants you Overflowing Vitality. If you end up getting enough Talent points before getting one, just allocate into Overwhelming Vitality manually until you find one. Once you get one, un-allocate the point.
