Awards - magicbug/Cloudlog GitHub Wiki

This guide explains every section available under the Awards menu in Cloudlog's top navigation bar.

The Awards menu tracks your progress towards amateur radio operating awards by cross-referencing your logbook against the entities, references, or locations each award requires. Only awards you have enabled in Award Settings appear in the menu.

What the Awards Menu Contains

The Awards dropdown can include:

  • CQ Magazine (WAZ)
  • DOK
  • DXCC
  • FFMA
  • GMDX Summer Challenge
  • Gridmaster (sub-menu: DL, LX, JA, US, UK)
  • IOTA
  • POTA
  • SIG
  • SOTA
  • US Counties
  • VUCC
  • WAB
  • WAJA
  • WAS
  • WWFF
  • Award Settings

Common Controls

Most award pages share the same set of controls:

  • Band β€” filter results to a single band or view all bands together. Defaults to all bands you have worked on.
  • Mode β€” filter results to a single mode or all modes.
  • Confirmation checkboxes β€” tick one or more of QSL, LoTW, and eQSL to count only contacts confirmed by those methods.
  • Show toggles β€” choose which rows are visible: Worked (contact logged), Confirmed (confirmation received), and/or Not Worked (entity not yet in your log). This lets you quickly focus on gaps in your awards progress.
  • Info button β€” displays a short description of the award.

Clicking any row in an award table opens a detailed QSO list for that entity, island, summit, park, or reference, filtered to the same band, mode, and confirmation settings you applied to the table.

SIG

URL: awards/sig

SIG (Special Interest Groups) is a flexible award tracker that works with the standard ADIF fields COL_SIG (type of SIG) and COL_SIG_INFO (specific reference within that SIG). QSO records must be logged with these fields populated before any data appears here.

What it Shows

A table listing every SIG type found in your log, along with:

  • The number of QSOs logged for that SIG type
  • The number of unique SIG references contacted

Clicking a SIG type opens a detail page listing every reference within that type and the contacts made.

If the SIG type is WAB, the link redirects to the dedicated WAB award page instead.

Each SIG type also has export buttons for ADIF and CSV to download all contacts for that group.

Populating SIG Data

Import QSO records with the MY_SIG and MY_SIG_INFO (or COL_SIG / COL_SIG_INFO) fields set, or edit individual QSOs to add these values. Common SIG types include BOTA (Bunkers on the Air), LOTA (Lighthouses on the Air), and similar activities.

Use Cases

  • Track activations or contacts for any programme that uses the ADIF SIG fields.
  • Export all contacts for a specific SIG type for award submission.

SOTA

URL: awards/sota

Summits on the Air (SOTA) tracks contacts with stations activating mountain summits worldwide. Summit references are stored in the COL_SOTA_REF ADIF field.

What it Shows

The SOTA page uses HTMX to load three panels dynamically:

  • Stats panel β€” total unique summits worked, confirmed summits, breakdown by band and by mode, and first/last contact dates.
  • Table β€” every SOTA contact with summit reference, association, region, summit name, date, band, mode, and confirmation status. The table has a client-side search box to filter by reference or callsign.
  • Map β€” a Leaflet map showing the geographic position of every worked summit, with markers colour-coded by confirmation status. Clicking a marker shows the QSOs for that summit.

Cloudlog automatically downloads the SOTA summit dataset when the page is first opened if the data files are missing.

Filters

Date range (from / to), band, mode, SOTA association, SOTA region, and a Confirmed Only toggle. All filters update all three panels simultaneously.

Use Cases

  • Review your SOTA chaser log and see how many unique summits you have worked.

Award Settings

URL: award/index

Award Settings controls which awards appear in the Awards menu. Each award can be individually enabled or disabled.

How to Manage Awards

  1. Open Awards > Award Settings at the bottom of the Awards dropdown.
  2. A table lists every available award with a toggle switch in each row.
  3. Click a toggle to instantly enable or disable that award β€” changes are saved automatically without a page reload.
  4. Use the Activate All button to enable every award at once.
  5. Use the Deactivate All button to hide every award and start from a clean menu.

Disabled awards are hidden from the Awards dropdown menu entirely. You can re-enable them at any time.

Use Cases

  • Keep the Awards menu tidy by only enabling the awards relevant to your operating interests.
  • Quickly enable all awards when exploring what each one shows.

Tips

  • Most award pages default to showing all bands on first load, with QSL and LoTW confirmation both enabled. Adjust the filters after the page opens to narrow the view.
  • The Not Worked toggle is particularly useful when planning operating sessions β€” enable it along with Not Worked only to generate a list of targets.
  • SOTA and POTA use HTMX to lazy-load their panels. If a panel looks empty, wait a moment for the request to complete or check your internet connection for any external data dependencies.
  • DXCC band-by-band tracking requires that QSOs be logged with the correct band field. Check your import settings if totals look lower than expected.
  • SIG tracking requires QSOs to have the COL_SIG and COL_SIG_INFO ADIF fields populated. If the SIG page is empty, your QSOs for that programme may not have these fields set.

Troubleshooting

Award not appearing in the menu Open Awards > Award Settings and verify the toggle for that award is switched on.

Award page shows no data Confirm that your active logbook contains QSOs relevant to the award (correct band, DXCC entity, SOTA reference field, etc.). Check that the band and mode filters are not accidentally set to a value you have not logged.

SOTA page shows no summits Cloudlog downloads the SOTA summit dataset automatically. If the download fails, a message will appear in the application logs. Verify the server has outbound internet access and try reloading the page.

POTA or WWFF references are empty These awards rely on the COL_POTA_REF or COL_WWFF_REF ADIF fields being present in your log. If you imported QSOs from an ADIF file, verify the source file contains these fields.

FFMA or Gridmaster map is blank Ensure your station profile has a valid home gridsquare set, as these map views centre on your home location. The interactive map requires JavaScript to be enabled in your browser.
