MAD Your First Worker Setup (Accounts) - madBeavis/PimpMyAtv GitHub Wiki

WORK-IN-PROGRESS

Foreward

You need accounts to put on devices so that MAD can control them. The following is what I have learned and/or suffered through during my time doing MAD.

Level Requirements

The different modes in MAD have different level requirements. The values and why are as follows;

  1. raids_mitm requires level 5+
  2. invasions do not show until level 8
  3. mon_mitm and iv_mitm require level 30+
    1. MAD will ignore data below level 30
    2. All accounts level 30 and above get the same iv for mons
    3. Below 30 get randomized ivs, hence the reason for MAD ignoring the data. It will put them on the map and send alerts, but with no iv information.
  4. pokestops should be level 30+, but will work with lower levels with caveats
    1. all accounts will get the same mons
    2. You can only get quest rewards that you can obtain in game. A level 19 can't get ultra balls, so it would get some other item/mon. No point in scanning if you will present erroneous data that most players won't get.
    3. Just utilize level 30+

Buying accounts

I have had mixed luck buying accounts. Almost every PTC account I have bought without having the recovery email account also has been stolen. I have bought several cheap Gmail accounts and have not had any issue with them being stolen. If you go the Gmail route, make sure you have the recovery information set to an account you own.

For PTC accounts, others and I have used https://levelthirty.com to purchase level 30s.

Creating acounts

Given the risks with buying accounts, I would suggest making your own. For Pokemon, you can make PTC (Pokemon Trainer) ones, but given past problems with running them unlinked, I would just skip them. It used to be that PTC was highly unreliable, constant login issues and log outs and bugs - it was a nightmare. You can also link a PTC account to Facebook or Google, but why do more work in, just start with a Google account. You will need one to setup your ATV (Android TV device), so might as well make it quick and right, so do a Google.

Get on you phone you use for real life Pokemon. Get into accounts and add a new google one. Make an Excel spreadsheet, store the account name and password. I would choose something somewhat complex enough, but not too bad. I set my password the same to all my accounts. Don't add a phone number, skip that step. Confirm and save the account. Delete it from your phone now, as you don't want any ties between your scanner accounts and your real life accounts. I only put the accounts

There is a limit to how many accounts you can make per device. Create accounts slowly, you seem to get more. Create them in a rapid fashion, you seem to get less. After you fill up a phone, use another one, whether it be a second phone, spouse, kids or people in your scanner community to make some. I recommend the former options, as you may have to verify the account when logging into an ATV, it is just more convenient.
