Technical setup

Streaming & screencasting

• OBS - free program which records audio, your screen and the camera at the same
• you can use OBS to record or stream to facebook or youtube

Audio quality

This is the most important technical quality. It is very hard to produce good content without good sound.

• for the best audio quality use small lavalier microphone - I recommend Rode SmartLav+ (it works with iphone, android and with SOME newer laptops - check if your headphones input accepts TRRS, that is, 4-part headset jack. i.e. Lenovo laptops seem to work with it)
• you can also use directional microphone

Lighting setup

If you want to look professional use enough lighting in your videos. Sitting close to the window during daylight is usually enough, but when you want to record without day light you will need extra lighting. Buying tripods with bulb fixtures should be okay for most scenarios. If you want to go pro I'd suggest getting led lighting panels.
