The need statement given to us was the 'Gesture controlled bot'. Accordingly we wanted our bot to pick and place the objects using gesture signals. We further thought of creating a game wherein the user has to make use of the bot to sort different coloured boxes by beckoning the bot as fast as possible. We began with our course project by gathering pertinent information of the existing projects,identifying the problem statement,objectives and functions of the bot followed by making the virtual design of the bot. First by sketching out different ideas on a piece of paper and later creating a 3-D model on Autodesk Inventor of the finalised idea. We further designed the circuit and flowcharts and wrote the code for each subsystem and finally integrated them. We then began with the most exciting part of the project,the physical implementation where we had hands on experience of using different machine tools transforming our ideas into reality. We made every subsystem with equal patience and team spirit.
