Custom board developed by Kris Fausnight :

  • High precision: Inclination<0.1 deg, Azimuth<0.2 deg, Distance<3mm
  • Waterproof, shock-proof
  • Integrated calibration algorithm, procedure takes <10 minutes
  • Loop closure test
  • Bluetooth, SD storage, USB charging
  • Redundant sensors allow error checking. Detects magnetic gradients caused by glasses, watches, rings etc. and alerts user. Will catch sensor malfunctions and drift.

Usage

  • Configure distance, azimuth and inclination over Bluetooth
  • Select distance aware cell to turn the laser on (ready for measurement)
  • Press the BRIC button to measure and send to CaveSurvey in the current cell
  • Vectors reading mode 'Save on receive'(trigger manually) or 'Scan'(auto start/stop for the 'Add vectors' screen) saves each measurement as a vector from the current station
