The Dark in reality a static location within The Crossroads, it seems inconstant in that it appears differently to each Departed. It is a reflection of the life and death of the Departed. Here, the Departed must confront their fears, transcend their doubts, and face whatever obstacles The Crossroads presents them with. Lost Souls are numerous within the Dark, as this is where the Departed are at their most vulnerable. Very few reach The Great Beyond unscathed, even with the assistance of a Psychopomp.
