Configuration
Railscasts has one configuration interface:
require("railscasts").setup({
high_contrast = false,
transparent = false,
darker_background = false,
dim_inactive = false,
})
vim.cmd.colorscheme "railscasts"
All options are booleans. Unknown option names and non-boolean values are rejected.
Options
| Option | Default | Effect |
|---|---|---|
high_contrast |
false |
Brightens muted comment/metadata text and the dark-green active surface without changing the default palette. |
transparent |
false |
Leaves main and floating-window backgrounds unset so the terminal or Neovim UI supplies the surface. |
darker_background |
false |
Uses the opt-in #1F1F1F solid editor and terminal surface. Cannot be combined with transparent. |
dim_inactive |
false |
Uses muted text in inactive windows and their winbars. |
Use high_contrast when readability takes precedence over a strict historical
match. Use darker_background for a darker solid Railscasts surface, or
transparent with a terminal background you deliberately control; they are
mutually exclusive. dim_inactive preserves focus by reducing the visual weight
of inactive windows.
Diagnose the active theme
Run :checkhealth railscasts after loading the colorscheme to validate Neovim
capabilities, active options, and the ANSI terminal palette. See Health Check.
