Summary: camera target selction with toggle for centering

Created: 2009–12–15 11:46

Status: Released

Category: Request

From: frankie

Version: 2.0

Released_In: 2.1

Description:

one of the difficulties with flying around an object or using the mouse to fly is that a node of interest has to be selected to fly around.

this is a request to allow a camera to select a node of interest by using it's parent to designate which node it is interested in.

target selection could be done using function keys (F1 - F12).

also, being able to to lock that node into the center of the view using a hotkey, such as the scroll lock key, would be nice.

frankie April 15, 2010, at 04:18 PM: While we didn't fix this exactly as prescribed above, we did implement a generic tcl command to have a camera track a node. More info on this capability is on the Graphics.Trackcam page. This gives any script the capability to track on any criteria, whether it be a function key or a hand controller button press. Feel free to make the capability work the best way for your setup. —FG
