being able to pass a define on the command line would be really useful for platforms such as windows where environment variables will not be used to configure the application.

brad Oct 23 2009, at 12:12 PM: This has been implemented and is in /vr/vr1/VR/src/edge/doug/lib_Linux_FC3/libdsp.a(so)!

Now you can do things like run_graphics -DSTATE_ARGS="-input ${DOUG_HOME}/states/cev -atinit" then later in a config file use the environment variable like normal:

-plugin state '${STATE_ARGS}'
