Description:
it seems that a few users have been bitten either with an update cache file that was set to read-only, or with a cache directory that was set to read-only which doesn't allow the update cache to get written out to disk. This can lead to DOUG taking a long time loading models when it starts since they have to be loaded from files and meshed each time.

It would be nice to have a bold warning when the update cache file (normally eng_graph.update) is read-only, or the directory that it needs to be written to is read-only.
