Model Coordinate Systems

The models in the EDGE package have been developed according to the coordinate systems defined in the DRAFT version of the "Constellation Level 2 Coordinate Systems Document". That document will obviously be changing in the future. The exact document that was used can be found on the website here.

ARES I Structural Coordinate System

For the ARES 1 vehicle, the first stage and second stage (nodes "FIRST_STAGE" and "SECOND_STAGE" respectively) are built to the "ARES I Structural Coordinate System" as defined on page 22 of the document.

CEV Structural Coordinate System

The LAS, crew module, and service module (nodes "LAS", "CEV_COMMAND_MODULE", and "CEV_SERVICE_MODULE" respectively) are built to the "CEV Structural Coordinate System" as defined on page 20 of the document.

ARES V Structural Coordinate System

For the ARES V vehicle, all models are built to the "ARES V Structural Coordinate System" as defined on page 23 of the document. This includes nodes "CaLV_FirstStage", "CaLV_SRB1", "CaLV_SRB2", "CaLV_UpperStage", "CaLV_Shroud_1", and "CaLV_Shroud_2".
