frankie April 04, 2011, at 10:55 AM: A note for people searching, the star catalog that is included in EDGE is the common Yale Bright Star Catalogue. You can find more information here.

The star adjustment capability was added via Issue 00189. It lets the users adjust all of the aspects of stars to their liking or to meet their own requirements.

Simple Instructions

To hide or show the stars, select "STARS" under the Toggle Menu

Advanced Configuration

The more detailed attributes of the stars are stored in the node called "STARS_CONFIG". To adjust them:

1. Select "Edit→Nodes"
2. Click the button "All"
3. Type "STARS" in the text search box at the bottom
4. Double click on the node called "STARS_CONFIG"
5. Edit the node the attributes to create the desired star display

The field mappings of the STARS_CONFIG node are as follows:

x : The maximum number of stars to display. Range 1 - 10000

y : The minimum pixel size for the least bright star being displayed.

z : The maximum pixel size for the most bright star being displayed.

pitch : The minimum color to use for the least bright star. Range 0 - 255

yaw : The maximum color to use for the most bright star being displayed. Range 0 - 255

roll : Unused
