Testing and rating different network operating systems on bare metal switches in different areas of enterprise IT scenarios.

Overview

Using networking gear that isn't produced by a big company such as cisco is a lot more difficult because the operating systems will be different and people who are qualified to configure other gear may not want to learn how to configure something new and foreign. The benefits of using these softwareless switches however can include more specified tools for different use cases and a drastically lower upfront cost than buying from enterprise tech companies.

Description

Using white-box switches provided to me I can test different software on each one, and find the strengths and weaknesses and which cases they would most likely be useful for. Then I can rate them against the industry standard cisco networking gear and see how they compare.
