After players launch, they will be required to travel through space before arriving at their destination. If someone is in space, a space event will occur. These space events could be negative and hinder the mission (e.g. collision with space junk) or be helpful (e.g. new pictures that gain public interest). We expect to have around 20 space event cards. These cards running out will be one trigger for the game ending. Some actual events in space, such as Christina Koch's meteor photo, were used as inspiration. Below are ideas for space event cards and examples.

Hindering space events

• Collision with space trash: lose one fuel (engineering cube)
• Navigational error causing increased fuel usage: lose one fuel
• Solar particle event causing interference with research equipment: lose one research cube

Advancing space events

• photograph a meteorite shower from Earth: gain one reputation
• More to come!
