Jupiter Missions

  • Europa: drill for ice samples and measure ice thickness; underwater probe for ocean samples and measure temperature of water
  • Io: collect volcanic plume samples for composition and measure heights of plumes; study lava lakes
  • Callisto: create a topographical map of craters; collect rock samples from different craters
  • Ganymede: measure magnetic field; photograph the auroras
