Overview
Metabolism adds a new HUD display to show various aspects of the mod. You can configure the visibility and position of the HUD in the client configs.

1. Food bar | 2. Hydration bar
How to read the bars
Each bar shows how much food or hydration you currently have, up to a maximum of 99.
The food and hydration bars can be confusing at first. See the bars in action to see how it works.
Any two-digit number 10a + b
will be represented by a
tens and b
ones. Each of the 9 sections of the food / hydration bars can represent both ones and tens at the same time, by the four states in the table below.

Thus the HUD in the image above has 48 food and 52 hydration.
In practice, the actual value of the bar hardly matters, so even if you can't decipher what the bars represent immediately, don't worry. Just take care of it when it is completely empty, full, or if one bar is much higher than another (the more visible tens matter)
3. Metabolization Progress Bar
This bar will go up as you gain metabolization progress, by doing various activities or by the metabolism effect. When it is full, metabolization will happen.
4. Metabolization Result Indicator
Depending on what was generated as a result of getting a full progress bar, this slot can show a warmth orb, the food icon, the water icon, or stay empty if nothing was made.
5. Heat Drain Indicator
This indicator will light up when you are hot or cold, with the corresponding heat orb. The animated arrows on each side of the indicator shows whether food or hydration is being drained due to the heat. The speed of the drain animation depends on the drain speed, which increases with the amount of heat you currently have.
