The Game Design Toolkit itself is hosted at GitHub. We highly recommend students and facilitators “Fork This!” toolkit.

Why GitHub?

GitHub provides a free, social collaboration space that enables teams to build and learn together. When we discuss constructionism, 21st century skills, and Digital Literacy, GitHub can and should be a key resource. Take a look at these papers and articles for further background and motivation for using GitHub:

Enablement and Support for Educators

GitHub offers programs and support to help you and your class. This assistance includes an educator community, a program to learn how to use the platform, and a special configuration of the platform aimed at the classroom:

Open Source Collaboration

The original contributors to this toolkit will continue to make updates to this wiki based on Issues created. However, if you'd like to contribute to the main version of this toolkit, join GitHub and request to join the project as a Contributor. From there you can edit, add, or remove content. If you'd like to just provide input, please create a new Issue.
