LBL AOP 6/30 (go/no-go): Posted beta version of Spawn (jointly with NREL, Objexx and Modelon)

LBL AOP 9/30: Modelica Buildings Library release

NREL AOP 9/30: Software release including doc that defines how to conduct a Spawn simulation

Protection mechanism to be reviewed until end of September.

Modelon needs example models that are not in Buildings but uses Buildings and should work. To be shared with Christian and Hakan.

Compiler integration

See tickets submitted today.

FMI-QSS

Python binding. Stuart working on it, going fine. Also works on regression testing.

QSS event handling. Update to event handling shared with Modelon for feedback.

EnergyPlus-Modelica coupling

Spawn FMUs are not yet self contained, https://github.com/lbl-srg/modelica-buildings/issues/2054 Should spawn.exe call be replaced by a call to a library function, with spawn.exe a wrapper for debugging? Michael to write up a specification for the implementation.

[For FY21, Q2] Kyle to look into numerical instability (walls may be initialized to wrong temperature). See for example Experimental/EnergyPlus/Examples/VAVReheatRefBldgSmallOffice/FloorOpenLoop. The temperature in the attic should not raise in the first hour. (Pending since Nov. 2019)

Support negative start time in EnergyPlus, https://github.com/lbl-srg/modelica-buildings/issues/1938

Plan for Spawn 0.x release by end of September, with Buildings Library 8.0.1 release (that includes bug fix for QLat_flow as in https://github.com/lbl-srg/modelica-buildings/issues/2602).

Modelica Workshop at Modelica Conference

1st block is Modelica IMPACT training. 2nd block is Buildings Library training.

Cloud registration will be through Modelon. Hubertus to ping Lena about registration process.
