Minutes

Minimum viable product

Dave added chiller to VAV single zone model. Model exists in OS and Modelica, about 2 to 3% difference in annual energy. Next, an economizer control will be added.

Also, worked on using FMI containers for HVAC and room. This will also add in decomposing the model for separate compilation of HVAC and building.

Heat conduction implementation

No update.

Scalable benchmark model

Jianjun shared files with Modelon who will analyze the results further. Now works on adding heat gains and VAV system.

FMI-QSS

Work is continuing in handling state events.

Documentation

Design docs have been updated to define what the public library API will be for change detection. Michael O'Keefe asks for side meeting to discuss what items to work on next.

OpenStudio API

No update.

Packaging

No update (from Kyle). Python will be in minimum viable product, but could be removed in 2 to 3 years. The rational is that working on performance has higher priority than ease of packaging and footprint. Funds will be used in subsequent year to remove Python dependency.

General

No update.

New action items

  1. Michael to schedule call with Christian and Kyle regarding minimum distributable.

Previous action items

  1. Michael to work on small prototypical building in Modelica.
  2. Dave to add VAV model to 1 zone test case.
  3. Kyle to prepare OS measures in order to move forward with how to design OS-Modelica API.
