- DOE peer-review: Slides are due to DOE by Feb. 27.
to be updated
Kyle presented two approaches for designing the API for the OpenStudio to Modelica integration. The first approach is a 'type' safe approach which is currently used in OpenStudio. In this approach, types of components or subcomponents Modelica models are predefined. This approach has the drawback that it is hard to maintain. The second approach is a a 'dynamic' approach where types are defined on the fly based on Modelica models. The second approach is more promising and will be used for the prototype. Details about the two approaches are at https://github.com/lbl-srg/soep/blob/master/example_api.rb Kyle raised the issues of combining sub-component models into systems to ease the use of the library by energy modellers.
Work is in progress to develop a single zone model with a VAV system.
Edwin out sick/ nothing to report
Michael started working on a scalable benchmark. The reference model used the BESTEST geometry with modified material data taken from the medium office building. The scaling of the benchmark will be done in Modelica.
Stuart is working on integrating an FMI interface in the QSS solver.
Michael O presented the work intended to be done at BigLadder. He raised several concerns which will be addressed offline. The issues raised are compiled here.
All should be thinking and preparing slides for the DOE peer review.
- Michael to work on small prototypical building in Modelica.
- Mark to rescope ORNL FY 17 work.
- Dave to add VAV model to 1 zone test case.
- Kyle to prepare OS measures in order to move forward with how to design OS-Modelica API.
- Michael will send a JModelica docker file to the group.
- Kyle and Michael O will be meeting to discuss the work to be done at BigLadder.
