Troubleshooting - larics/crazyflies_wiki GitHub Wiki

Crazyflies are disconnecting all the time.

This is a common thing that happens when the radio dongle tries to connect to several Crazyflies at the same time.

  • Try running start.sh a couple of times.
  • Check whether this Crazyflie can connect to cfclient.
  • Try turning it off and on. This can sometimes do the trick.
  • An additional solution would be adding more dongles and connecting each to its own dongle; however, according to documentation, Crazyradio should be able to connect to several Crazyflies.

Crazyflies act crazy

Who would tell!? :) There are a couple of possible reasons why:

  • Check the velocity input. Because of the small flight area, limit the velocity reference to 1 m/s. With anything below 1, Crazyflies should act just right.
  • If the propellers are damaged or they are falling out or can easily get off the shaft of the motor, replace them with unused ones.
  • Try to control the Crazyflie via cfclient.
  • The dongle works on 2.4 GHz, which is the exact band of the WiFi. Even though the addresses of Crazyflies are put on higher channels, WiFi and other signals can sometimes cause interference.
  • If using Flow deck sensors, it can become unstable if the Crazyflie rapidly changes the distance from the ground (e.g., going over a chair, table, small bump on the carpet, etc.).
  • If you are sure that none of the above is the answer to their exceeded craziness, try flashing the Crazyradio and the Crazyflie firmware.
