Gunbird art mood is based in the steampunk category. The futuristic idea of the steam engineering of the Victorian era, along with the japanese anime/manga theme, creates different forms of battle as magic, martial arts, engineering, robotic engineering and warrior civilizations combat style. The different personalities of each character and the place where they come from contribute to the game different dialogues and possible routes to follow.
We weren't able to find detailed information about the concept art of the videogame. However, we have done a compilation of images related to Gunbird.

In order to get the sprites we used the program VirtualDub combined with Paint.NET to transform files into .png

First of all, when we have chosen a character, the system randomly selects one of the five possible maps. During the game, we will only play in a total of four, chosen at random.
In this map you can see two different parts. On the one hand, the exterior area of the castle, where colors such as green vegetation and the blue of the river and the lake stand out. On the other hand, when we are already inside the fortress of the castle, colors like gray and rosybrown stand out. Adding the theme of knights of the sprites, it's a level that represents the security of a fortress.

The combination of jungle with the steampunk machinery represent the overexploitation of a landscape by humans where predominate green vegetation and brown asphalt. It maintains a good balance of representation of a different level in comparison to the town. A place where humans don't live but where they are.

The mine is a level represented as a traditional workplace using a variety of shades of brown and adding sprites of workers to the map. As we mentioned before, this level also have steampunk machines theme.

On a level related to the ocean couldn't miss the different blue colors representing the sea. The map is set in a maritime fortress where you can also see colors as gray and brown for machines.

This level represents a chase or a race in a train. The map is divided in two parts: The town zone and the train area. In the first zone we see a very basic color palette of brown and gray representing stone structures and, in the second area, the colors are expanded to see some green vegetation or terracotta color.

The level is set in the Maya temples, located on the outskirts of the villages. It uses mainly a combination of gray and green to represent a building in uniformity with the nature and brown ahead towards the entrance to the temple.

Inside the temple the color doesn't change much from the outside. The building continues to blend gray and green but applies darker colors to express depth.

As a difference from the previous map, in the sanctuary we can observe a great variety of colors trying to transmit our closeness towards the end of the game. There are a large variety of browns for different temple halls; orange, red and velvet red for lava anb blue lapislazuli to represent the final hallway.
