Exploratory prototype - kubapeter/portfolio GitHub Wiki

An exploratory prototype is created when the development team builds a working code, only to explore what is feasible—fully expecting to throw the work out after learning from the prototype.

Aims:

  • gives a more comprehensive look at what the product will look like than an illustrative prototype
  • helps to understand the effort needed to build the product

Exploratory prototyping is expensive in terms of consuming resources, but it is used because it is less costly than finding out later in the process that a product solution just cannot work. Feasibility of the product idea is the main focus.
