The daily scrum is a scrum event. To keep the team focused on the plan, daily scrums are brief meetings held early each day, when each team member outlines

• what they did previously,
• what they will work on, and
• what may be blocking their progress.

To encourage brevity and avoid long meetings, the daily scrums are conducted with the team standing up. So, the daily scrum is also known as the daily stand-up meeting.
