We use Animania which changes the breeding mechanics of animals.

Change two settings to stop the animal overload.

• Animals Starve to true
• Manual Breeding to true

If the overload has already occurred you can use the /killall command or /kill @e[type=...] where ... is the mob type you want to eradicate.

This change has been active since build 45 of the pack.
