eeu.typ — Street-Type Word Dictionary

A small dictionary of localized street-type words (AUTOSTRADA, BULEVARDI, RRUGA, SOKAK, ULITSA, ...) used to compose full road names — eeu.rd's own name field never includes these (see eeu.rd).

Layout

• Same 94-byte header.
• Exactly 2,574 fixed 41-byte records: [40-byte NUL-padded name][1-byte type code (0–3)].

The 1-byte type code's exact meaning wasn't pinned down further, but the word list itself is directly readable — this is a dictionary of type words, not a numeric road-class table, so it does not explain eeu.rd's own unresolved bytes[1:5].

Practical relevance

This file is the cross-reference target used to validate the eeuz.rt/ eeuz.ct character-trie decoders (see Name Search Catalog) — real trie leaf strings spell out exact eeu.typ words across multiple languages (Turkish SOKAK, Russian ULITSA, Ukrainian VULYTSIA, Italian VICINALE DEI, ...), which is strong, independent confirmation that those trie decoders are reading real data.

research/road_index_reader.py cross-references this file; no dedicated reader module (41-byte fixed records are simple enough to decode inline).
