You have the option to set up a password lock in Ledger Live to prevent unauthorized access. This password will encrypt all sensitive user data, including your account names, public addresses, and transaction details.

Please note that setting up a password in Ledger Live is an optional feature, disabled by default. However, you can enable it at any time within Ledger Live.

Please download the last update of Ledger Live Application:

“Common Lockscreen Subtitle” Error

We’ve identified an issue on older Ledger live versions where a “common lockscreen subtitle” error message is displayed on the lock screen of Ledger Live. Please be advised that this is simply a visual bug, with no further impact. This can be solved by updating Ledger Live to its latest version via https://www.ledger.com/ledger-live

Set up

A password can be set at the initial setup or at any later moment:

  1. Click on ** Settings.
  2. Click the password lock toggle (** ).
  3. Choose your password in the window that opens.
  4. Enter your password again to confirm.
  5. Click Save.

You can always return to disable your password. To change your password, simply disable the password lock and re-enable it with a new password. 

Lock and unlock your session

Ledger Live Desktop Ledger Live Mobile

  1. Click on ** Lock in the top bar.
  2. Your Ledger Live session will be locked.
  3. To unlock, enter your password and press Enter.
  4. Your session should resume.

Tips

  • Make sure to remember your password. Do not share it.
  • Losing your password requires resetting Ledger Live and re-adding accounts.

How to disable your screen lock password

To disable your password, simply go to the ‘Settings‘ section in Ledger Live, select the ‘General‘ tab, and click on the toggle button. You will need to enter your current lock password and click ‘Save‘ to complete the process of disabling the password.
