Buzz Axe Rampage
- Duration increased to 24 seconds from 15.
- Heals the user on activation.
While giving healing on activation may seem like a bad idea, an action skill should be a power move that allows the player to regain control over a situation, which baseline Buzz Axe Rampage fails at. It also conditions the player into the mindset of Release the Beast early on which is overall a good thing.
Bloodlust
T1 - Blood-Filled Guns
Type: Standard
Description: Magazine Size of all weapons increased for each stack of Bloodlust.
- Clip Size: +0.5% per point per stack
Unchanged
T1 - Bloody Twitch
Type: Standard
Description: Increases your Weapon Swap Speed for each stack of Bloodlust.
- Swap Speed: +0.3% per point per stack
Is now passive instead of a Kill Skill, Krieg has plenty and Bloody Twitch was never a hard take anyway. Also 30% Swap Speed for 1 point is fairly underwhelming as far as Kill Skills go.
T2 - Taste of Blood
Type: Standard
Description: During Buzz Axe Rampage, damage reduction is increased for each stack of Bloodlust.Killing an enemy during Buzz Axe Rampage adds extra stacks of Bloodlust.
- Damage Reduction: +0.1% per point per stack
- Bloodlust Stacks Per Kill: +2 per point
All that changed is the effects increase linearly per point and are no longer hard capped. The changes will only be felt if the skill is boosted by class mods.
T2 - Blood Overdrive
Type: Kill Skill
Description: Kill SkillIncreases Melee Damage for each stack of Bloodlust.
- Melee Damage: +0.3% per point per stack
Removed the extra conditional requirement and lowered the strength of the skill. The whole kill skill triangle Bloodlust has going on is neat but it really comes down to exploiting one or two of them and then getting frustrated when something like a Elemental Effect steals the kill. Blood Overdrive suffers the most since Melee Krieg cannot use its full potential and other Krieg builds don't care about it.
T2 - Bloody Revival
Type: Standard
Description: Gun Damage and Movement Speed during Fight For Your Life is increased for each stack of Bloodlust.
- Gun Damage: +0.2% per point per stack
- Movement Speed: +0.4% per point per stack
No longer restricted to Assault Rifles. Also since Light the Fuse was removed it has been given movement speed to compensate and for a fun factor.
T3 - Blood Bath
Type: Kill Skill
Description: Kill SkillIncreases Bullet Damage for each stack of Bloodlust.
- Bullet Damage: +0.2% per point per stack
Removed the extra conditional requirement and lowered the strength of the skill, see Blood Overdrive for brief reasoning. This specifically boosts bullet damage which makes it quite strong, but also stops it from double dipping with Fuel the Blood, recreating the Weapon Triangle that Bloodlust is trying for.
T3 - Buzz Axe Bombardier
Type: Action Skill Augmentation
Description: Action Skill AugmentationYour buzz axe now has dynamite attached to it, which explodes on impact. Additionally, enemies killed with explosions have a chance to drop grenade ammo.
- Grenade Drop Chance: 20%
- Buzz Axe splash is now Rocket instead of Grenade.
Moved Blood Bath's grenade drop chance to this for some extra utility. Overall Rocket is more potent than Grenade splash in this mod and Krieg isn't flexible in Buzz Axe Rampage so it at least deserves this buff.
T3 - Fuel the Blood
Type: Kill Skill
Description: Kill SkillIncreases Splash Damage for each stack of Bloodlust.
- Splash Damage: +0.16% per point per stack
Removed the extra conditional requirement and lowered the strength of the skill, see Blood Overdrive for brief reasoning. Since this is much more available to Krieg it had to be nerfed the hardest out of the three.
T4 - Boiling Blood
Type: Standard
Description: Increases the duration of your Kill Skills and the time before Bloodlust stacks start to decay.
- Kill Skill Duration: +6% per point
- Bloodlust Decay Delay: +0.2 per point
Makes Bloodlust just a bit stronger in the situations where it's harder or more limited to activate. The decay delay was also reduced to encourage active play.
T5 - Nervous Blood
Type: Kill Skill
Description: Kill SkillIncreases your Reload Speed for each stack of Bloodlust.
- Reload Speed: +0.3% per point per stack
Unchanged
T6 - Bloodsplosion
Type: Capstone
Description: Killing an enemy causes an Elemental Nova matching the element of the damage that killed it. Nova damage is increased for each stack of Bloodlust.Any Overkill Damage is also added to damage caused by an Elemental Nova.
- Nova Damage Increase: +5% per stack
- Nova deals Shield Nova damage instead of Grenade.
The damage type change is a fairly large nerf, but with how much more powerful the rest of the Bloodlust tree has become this shouldn't be felt except during more excessive Bloodsplosion chains.
Mania
T1 - Empty the Rage
Type: Standard
Description: Increases Melee Damage. Effects are tripled while your shields or magazine is depleted.
- Melee Damage: +4% per point
Overall increase, mainly for consistency.
T1 - Feed the Meat
Type: Standard
Description: Increases Maximum Health and Shield Recharge Delay.
- Max Health: +10% per point
- Shield Recharge Delay: +0.5s per point
Unchanged
T2 - Embrace the Pain
Type: Standard
Description: Increases Fire Rate and Shield Recharge Delay while your shields are down.
- Fire Rate: +7% per point
- Shield Recharge Delay: +1s per point
- Works during Buzz Axe Rampage
Description accurately reflects how it works and as a small bonus it's active in Buzz Axe Rampage for faster throws.
T2 - Fuel the Rampage
Type: Standard
Description: Increases Melee Damage, Damage Resistance and Movement Speed based on your health. The lower your health, the higher the bonus.
- Melee Damage: Up to +10% per point
- Damage Resistance: Up to +10% per point
- Movement Speed: Up to +10% per point
Does anyone actually use this skill? Like I know some pick it during NVHM but it's just a stepping stone to Release the Beast. The only other use case is to B0re bosses. Either way this makes it actually useful later on but not essential for Melee Krieg.
T3 - Thrill of the Kill
Type: Kill Skill
Description: Increases Movement Speed and grants Health Regeneration.
- Movement Speed: +6% per point
- Health Regen: +2%/s per point
Moved it away from burst healing since it doesn't always benefit melee Krieg and his other play styles were getting way too much value from it.
T3 - Pull the Pin
Type: Game Changer
Description: You drop a free grenade when entering Fight For Your Life. Additionally, you deal increased Splash Damage while in Fight For Your Life.
- Splash Damage: +20%
Makes Pull the Pin actually useful beyond a meta level.
T3 - Strip the Flesh
Type: Standard
Description: Increases Explosive Damage. Effects are doubled while in Fight For Your Life.
- Explosive Damage: +4% per point
A small buff, may need to be reverted in the future.
T4 - Salt the Wound
Type: Standard
Description: Taking damage from an enemy while your shield is down adds a stack of Salt the Wound. Each stack increases Melee and Gun Damage. Stacks begin to decay shortly after not taking damage.
- Melee Damage: +1% per point per stack
- Gun Damage: +1% per point per stack
Reduced the melee damage to match the shotgun damage and it boosts all gun damage instead. Want this to be more focused on guns than melee.
T5 - Silence the Voices
Type: Standard
Description: Melee Damage significantly increased. There's a chance when performing a melee attack that you hit yourself instead.
- Melee Damage: +50% per point
- Self hits deal Skill damage instead of Grenade.
So that Bloodlust Krieg doesn't blow himself up for playing the game.
T6 - Release the Beast
Type: Action Skill Augment/Capstone
Description: Activating Buzz Axe Rampage when below 33% of your max health transforms you into a Badass Psycho with full health. You gain increased Melee Damage and Damage Resistance while transformed and Buzz Axe Rampage is instantly recharged when you revert to normal.
- Melee Damage: +100% per point
- Damage Resistance: +100% per point
Also gives an unlisted +20% Movement Speed and +10% Jump Force, but goes unlisted since it's fairly small and is mainly to make the player feel bigger than they are.
Hellborn
T4 - Flame Flare
Type: Standard
Description: Increases the duration and reduces the damage taken from Burns. Also reduces the duration of other Elemental Effects received.
- Burn Duration: +20% per point
- Burn Resistance: +25% per point
- Elemental Effect Duration: -10% per point
Focused on maintaining a burn for extended duration. The reignite effect was removed because it is bugged and has very low impact even when it worked.
T4 - Burn, Baby, Burn
Type: Standard
Description: Increases Incendiary and Burn Damage.Effects are tripled while burning.
- Incendiary Damage: +2% per point
- Burn Damage: +5% per point
Hellborn only has one skill that directly boosts fire damage, which is this one. This has been moved further down the tree and buffed for those that really want to boost Krieg's fire damage.
T5 - Elemental Empathy
Type: Standard
Description: A percentage of Elemental Status Effect Damage done to enemies heals you.
- Status Damage Healed: 2% per point
This has been nerfed because of all the buffs to elemental effect.
T6 - Raving Retribution
Type: Capstone
Description: While you are on fire, taking damage from enemies will spawn homing balls of fire that seek out the attacker and explode on impact. Fireballs can only trigger once per second.
