How to Fill Dosing Chambers - kkacevas/Laskowski-Lab GitHub Wiki

NOTE: Both dosing chambers should be filled up to top (~ 55 gal) once it gets at or below 15 gal

What you need:

  • Blue measuring cup (that has 0.5lb measurement on it)
  • Salt (conductivity) or baking soda (pH)
  • RO water (get from storage tank)
  • Bucket (to hold salt in)

Conductivity Dosing Chamber

  1. Use blue measuring cup to measure 5lbs of SALT (10 scoops of 0.5lb measurement). The salt used should be obtained from the large black container near the booster pump. Put salt into bucket and take cup and bucket to dosing chamber when done.
  2. TURN OFF CONDUCTIVTIY DOSING CHAMBER BEFORE CONTINUING!
  3. If needed, empty out remaining liquid and clean the chamber (scrub it with sponge and rinse with water if needed-- do NOT use soap!)
  4. Start filling up dosing chamber with salt and RO water (use storage tank hose to fill up). While filling up, use your hand or net to mix the water and salt together so that most of the salt dissolves when you are done.
  5. Fill up dosing chamber up to 55 gal mark!
  6. When done, put lid back onto dosing chamber and turn it back on!

pH Dosing Chamber

  1. TURN OFF pH DOSING CHAMBER BEFORE STARTING!
  2. If needed, empty out remaining liquid and clean the chamber (scrub it with sponge and rinse with water if needed-- do NOT use soap!)
  3. Start filling up dosing chamber with baking soda and RO water (use storage tank hose to fill up). Use blue measuring cup to measure 2lbs of BAKING SODA (4 scoops of 0.5lb measurement). While filling up, use your hand to mix the water and baking soda together.
  4. Fill up dosing chamber up to 55 gal mark!
  5. When done, put lid back onto dosing chamber and turn it back on!
