  • Recusion is something that is self refrencing
  • When you hit the basecase, you return
  • If you don't hit the basecase, you return the thing that was passed in -1
  • Everytime you call a recursive function, it takes up one frame of the stack and is therefore prone to stack overflow
  • for loops often do the same thing
