Radical Candor has two dimensions:
- Caring Personally
- Challenging Directly
Get, Give and Encourage Guidance
- Don't worry about 'sandwiching' feedback
- Don't personalize feedback. Talk about behaviors, not 'the person'
- The quadrant:
- Ruinous Empathy
- Obnoxious aggression
- Manipulative Insincerity
- Radical Candor
- Ask your team to give you feedback before you start giving feedback as part of your routine
- Praise and criticize
- You can, and should, be raically candid with people you know well and those you don't
- Give a damn and just say it.
