XY Kaiyazo Ironmon Ruleset - kcblack42/Citra-Tracker-v2 GitHub Wiki

This is an alternate ruleset for Kaizo Ironmon, specifically created for gen 6 (XY in particular), focused on stream content (meaningful stream content, NOT lab farming) and decision points within a run. There's a lot of alterations to the base Kaizo ruleset, but generally speaking they all wash out and create a very similar experience to what already exists, but with a more varied gameplay loop that allows for more interesting gameplay and decisionmaking, ideally to allow player skill and agency to have more of a factor in any given ironmon run, which is something that is sorely lacking in kaizo (and harder) gameplay.

50% settings string (RECOMMENDED, REQUIRES THE ALTERNATE RANDOMIZER THAT ALLOWS IMPOSTER LOCK AND SEVERAL OTHER QOL CHANGES): 321WRIEEnKKAo0CkAKRAAKeBhlESQEAFAACCQAuMgAAAAAiwhCI5ATkwogJCTIHBwIyFwUYIsIQiAAAAAAJUG9rZW1vbiBYfgKDkGImEPI=

42% settings string (also requires the alternate rando): 321WRIEEkKKAo0CkAKRAAKeBhlESQEAFAACCQAuMgAAAAAiwhCI3ATkwogJCTIHBwIyFwUYIsIQiAAAAAAJUG9rZW1vbiBYB2MFqS2MLEg=

Base ruleset The base ruleset of this is the "Kaizo-600" ruleset developed by myself and Jellisky previously, which has +1 mon to every trainer in the game, allows 600 BST mons to be used on fluctuating curve, and allows legendaries to appear in the wild.
Held items You are allowed to hold most non-healing items in the game, as long as you pick them up via item ball off of the ground (gift items are not allowed). However, because you get to hold items, so do opposing trainers, who get sensible items on all of their pokemon. Non-healing items that are still banned are Expert Belt, Muscle Band, Wise Glasses, Assault Vest, Focus Sash, and Focus Band.
Stone evolutions For mons that are stone evolutions, use of any TM acquired before the fifth gym is allowed (assuming 50% learn rate). The last point at which you can teach a non-gym TM to a stone mon is before Clement. Additionally, you can only teach each TM until you obtain the next TM (they're treated as level up moves), and reteaching old TMs requires burning a Heart Scale.
Early Viola You must fight Viola before entering route 22, unless you are pivoting. If you are pivoting on route 22, you must pivot after you fight the first trainer on that route. However, before Viola you may buy 5 potions in place of the valentines day sweet hearts from the girl in Camphrier Town.
Early Grant You must fight Grant before entering route 10 for the first time. You may go back to earlier routes to finish cleaning up, but you may not fight any trainers or get any items on route 10 before Grant is defeated.
Monkey See, Monkey Don't Imposter is locked to Ditto. Fuck that ability in particular.
Poison Heal You cannot poison yourself on wild mons with this ability, and the use of Toxic Orb is banned.
Ability Rebalancing Pure/Huge power cannot be used by mons that are higher than 450 BST (this is the same as in base XY Kaizo). Additionally, the abilities Protean, Parental Bond (!), Harvest, Fur Coat, and Cheek Pouch cannot be used by mons higher than 555 BST.
Item Pool Dilution There's a lot of absolute garbage in the XY item pool. Thus, you can trade Flutes, Fossils, Pretty Wings, and Mega Stones (in any combination) for items. To "trade" a mega stone, simply discard the item and then go and either buy or smash rocks until you find the item you need. If you are looking for any of the rock smash items, make sure you delete any additional items that you find. Note that none of these items can be purchased in any way, but can be gifted by an NPC. Additionally, Sketch cannot be taught via TM in this manner.

Trading rates are as follows (subject to change):
3 items - super potion
5 items - ether (rock smash)
6 items - teach one TM (only usable once, after Korrina)
8 items - heart scale (rock smash)
12 items - max ether (rock smash)
15 items - hyper potion
20 items - teach an additional TM (only usable once, after saving the world)
Nature Rerolls You are allowed to reroll the nature for a mon a limited number of times, until you get one without a minus in your primary offensive stat or a plus in the dump offensive stat.
Route 7 Adjustments The Battle Chateau is banned. Additionally, the trainer on the northern side of connecting cave cannot be fought until you are able to use Strength to clear the rocks (aka you cannot enter the northern part of the cave until after you get access to Strength).
Mini Potion Mixing Any 20hp potions that do not work as held items (Potion, Rage Candy Bar, etc) can be converted to Super Potions at the rate of 3:1 after Clemont. This can be done any number of times.
Minor QOL Changes All wild mons are set to their highest possible level (this does not break anything in this game, just makes for less pivot grinding). All mons have maximum friendship when caught, also to reduce grinding. "Revert bad berries" change has been enabled to help fix the atrocious item pool - the trades have been balanced around this setting being enabled.
