How to Run the Modpack on Lower End Machines - katubug/CottageWitchRecast GitHub Wiki

Cottage Witch: Recast is a bit lighter than the original Cottage Witch, but it can still be a strain on lower-end PCs. If you'd like to play in singleplayer and don't mind some tinkering, you can remove certain mods to lighten the pack up. Keep in mind that if you do this, you will not be able to connect to a server running the pack (unless you make it yourself using your altered modlist, but that's beyond the scope of this tutorial).

Firstly, install the pack. Then, you'll want to click the three dots next to the Play button, and choose "Profile Options." Tick the button that says "Allow Content Management for this profile." Now you can add or remove mods as you like!

Here is a list of mods which you can safely delete without losing access to quests and without breaking any scripts. Keep in mind that these may not all be worth removing, as many of them are small or provide performance boosts. Make sure to look at each mod before deciding to remove it. You can also remove [https://github.com/katubug/CottageWitchRecast/wiki/Client-Only-Mods](any of the mods on this list).

Some mods have datapacks associated with them, and if you remove the mod, you must also remove the datapack! To remove the datapacks, you must go into the /kubejs/data/ folder and look for the folder with the mod name, then delete that folder.

Once you've got the mod list set to your satisfaction, you can also turn to the ResourcePacks. These are especially heavy on performance, so I highly recommend deleting them straight from the folder if you do not want them. You can find the folder in your Options > Resourcepacks > Open Folder.

If you receive an error that says:

[08:20:58] [ERROR] ! Error occurred while handling event 'MoreJSEvents.registerPotionBrewing': java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Top input must have at least one item
[08:20:58] [ERROR] ! java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Top input must have at least one item

You also need to delete the file /kubejs/startup_scripts/brewing.js.
