Virago(Meilyn Xue)

Raised in a mid-level Commander’s family in a Republic of Gilead enclave, Virago arrived in the city low on cash and hungry for knowledge. Though some Gilead enclaves don’t educate women beyond housekeeping and child care, Virago was lucky enough to be born in an enclave where education was for all. After a restless childhood and a coming of age ceremony that confirmed their fears that they didn’t seem to fit into either gender role available in Gilead, Vir’s tiny world came crashing down on the eve of an arranged marriage.

A standard DNA compatibility test with Vir’s proposed husband revealed that Virago has significant Betazoid heritage. Vir, her mother, and sister were all immediately disowned even though Vir was the only one whose DNA was “tainted”. (The Betazoid relative is a mystery for sure, but by Gilead custom, these situations are always the mother’s fault.) Vir’s mother chose to stay in the enclave and take up a menial position. Vir and their sister used their limited funds to buy maglev tickets to get the heck outta there. Vir’s first stop off the train was for Cyberware. Vir hasn’t seen their sister since the train station, where they went their separate ways with a lukewarm promise to “keep in touch”.

Since then, Vir’s been enjoying embracing their gender fluidity, trying to learn how EVERYTHING works, reading up on what Betazoids even are, and doing a little medic work for whomever can sort of pay.

Currently Vir is living in a crevice under an emergency evacuation chute in a somewhat safe alley. Vir is 21, but seems much younger due to the lack of experience with the “secular” world outside of Gilead. Vir loves city life already, but is still Mad at Dad. And Gilead. Especially Gilead.

Has an osmotic eel, but a night market knockoff of a Biotechnica clone.
