The Dirty Hippies

The Dirty Hippies aren't exactly a 20th Century posergang, but the nickname stuck and they can't shake it. They're a group of stoner urban reclaimers and Sprawl farmers who farm ganja and build efficient solar and aquaponics setups. They always welcome sweat equity and financial help to keep indie crops going. Much of what they farm goes largely to internal use, but a good percentage of it shows up at arcology Night Markets, and gets shipped out on Nomad convoys in exchange for hard currency.

The Dirty Hippies are largely commune-based, and a Hippie who does not agree with their local cell often wanders off to hook up with other Hippies, leading to a steady circulation of outside talent and knowledge. They can seem rather cultish to outsiders. Dirty Hippies will often set up mutual advantage arrangements with Edgerunners and Nomads, exchanging food, lodging, and ganja for firepower and physical protection in the former case, and transport to market in the latter.

Most of the Dirty Hippies are engaged in a constant fight against the forces of Continental Brands, who they consider the ultimate oppressor.

Firebrand's communities regularly host Dirty Hippie farmers' markets.
