Background:
Born in 2343, Lane Bly's early years were marked by tenacity and an insatiable curiosity. Growing up in a world riddled with corruption and corporate schemes, Lane gravitated towards journalism, quickly making a name for herself as an investigative reporter. Her career reached its peak when she began to unravel her own family's deep betrayals. Her personal investigation became intertwined with the larger events of the Dominion War, which had a devastating impact on Lane when her family were all killed during the attack on San Francisco.
Despite her success in exposing corruption, the dangers of the trade became all too real. In 2378, Lane faced severe threats after probing a particularly dangerous case. To protect herself, she reluctantly left behind her role as an investigative journalist, choosing to pivot to the more glamorous and seemingly safer world of fashion reporting. Together with her business partner and friend, Bruce “Runway Rambler” Yokohama, she co-authored columns that dissected trends and fashion in the cybernetic metropolis, gaining influence in the public sphere. But the shadows of her past remained, and beneath the sequins and neon lights, Lane’s investigative instincts never dulled. Appearance and Style:
Lane presents a unique juxtaposition of natural and synthetic elements, embodying the blend of human and digital worlds that defines her city. Her hair, a dynamic mix of neon streaks that glow under the city’s lights, cascades in loose waves reminiscent of a more carefree bohemian past. She sports a style that blends flowing, organic fabrics with armored pieces for both fashion and protection, a reminder that danger can lurk around any corner. Her accessories, such as repurposed tech jewelry, including a holographic meteorite necklace, complement this mix of aesthetics.
She also wears a biofeedback-enhanced mood ring, which shifts colors based on her emotions, a personal favorite that shows the balance between her investigative edge and her emotional awareness. Personality and Skills:
Lane is pragmatic and driven by a thirst for uncovering the truth. Her time as a fashion blogger gave her a nuanced understanding of public perception, which complements her investigative skills. She also honed her shooting abilities while dating Kodiak, adding a practical edge to her investigative work.
Able to move between high society and the gritty streets with ease, Lane combines her stylish exterior with a sharp mind, always ready to tackle the next mystery with relentless focus.
Recent Events:
Lane’s return to investigative reporting has pulled her back into dangerous waters, from uncovering insurance scams to navigating gang conflicts and corporate corruption. While her experiences in fashion have refined her public persona, her heart remains in the hunt for hidden truths. Her unique blend of style, combat ability, and investigative skill makes her a formidable presence in any setting.

Kimi (Sierra-Foxtrot-19-Jaakkima)
"Kimi, can you come to the front desk please... we have a security situation."
What the corrupt cops and wannabe gang-bangers never realize when they try to hold up an impoverished med clinic, of course, is that "Kimi" is retired supersoldier Sierra-Foxtrot-19-Jaakkima.
After a sloppy gap in guard shifts gave Kimi a window to aggressively renegotiate his contract with the corp execs that created him, he arrived at a compromise they all could live with (he got to go... and they all got to live). He can now be found staffing a back-alley clinic in one of the Koto City slums. A frequent stop of both injured nomads and the neighborhood families, he's only scary until you get to know him. promise!
...unless, of course, you thought you could make some easy cash by beating it out of the local medics.
"Oh no, I'm not going to kick you out. ...that would be Kimi's job."
