Week 3: Rube Goldberg Machine - kalibirdsall/Creative-Coding-Class-Wiki GitHub Wiki
My Rube Goldberg machine shows how numbers are randomly generated by bouncy balls falling on a calculator. Random numbers are hit on the calculator causing a random number to appear on the calculator screen. All this is set off by a bad kitty knocking a book off a shelf.
Selecting elements: I wanted to use bouncy balls because the way they bounce always feels so random and uncontrollable. And after looking through pages of Rube Goldberg machines, I picked several recurring components that I liked such as a catapult and cats, to use in my own cartoon. I loved how animals were frequently used in Rube Goldberg cartoons, and I decided to start with a cat as the catalyst for my random generator.
