K-P2PLab: An Elastic, Centrally Orchestrated Multi-Host P2P Testbed with Per-Peer Container Isolation
Overview · Concepts · Research · Publications · Public Implementation
K-P2PLab is a research testbed for constructing, running, and analyzing peer-to-peer (P2P) networks under controlled experimental conditions. It executes real P2P software in separate peer containers, with workloads distributed across hosts under central orchestration.
This page is the project overview in the unified K-P2PLab Wiki. It connects the project's objectives, design principles, conceptual architecture, evolution, and research publications.
Centralized experiment control. Distributed peer execution.
The platform coordinates the experiment centrally; experimental P2P messages are exchanged between peers.

This wiki separates project-wide concepts and research context from v3 implementation contracts. For overlapping topics, link from the concept to the relevant v3 guide instead of copying commands, defaults, or formulas. The kpl-v3 repository README links here; source code and runnable examples remain in kpl-v3.
v3 documentation maps deployment, Agent capacity, execution and recovery, observation, and result analysis.
See design principles.
Read the capacity and placement concepts and v3 configuration and scheduling rules.
The conceptual diagram explains roles; v3 architecture describes actual components.
The research experiment cycle connects a question to comparison of results.
K-P2PLab has evolved through successive research implementations. The versions share a research lineage, but differ in architecture, experimental controls, and measurement capabilities.
| Version | Focus | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| v3 | Scenario-driven control, per-Peer container isolation, live observation, and saved-result analysis. | Public source repository. |
| v2 | Subsequent platform design for multi-host P2P experiments and topology analysis. | Platform paper; source code not publicly released. |
| v1 | Initial platform for P2P network construction and topology analysis. | Platform paper; source code not publicly released. |
