Unicode restrictions - jzohrab/lute GitHub Wiki

This documentation is deprecated/obsolete. Lute v2 has been replaced by Lute v3, a full Python rewrite. Please see the Lute v3 manual which includes notes on installation. If you have Lute v2, you can easily migrate to v3. Thank you!

Characters for almost all modern languages, and a large number of symbols, are supported.

Texts and vocabulary terms with Unicode characters outside the Basic Multilingual Plane (BMP; U+0000 to U+FFFF), i.e. with Unicode characters U+10000 and higher, are not supported. This could include historic scripts, certain symbols and notations, and Emojis.
