Key Terms

• Management Server - A server separate from the Active Directory server, used as a hub for configuring servers on a domain.

• Domain Administrator - A necessary component of a domain, as domain admins are used on new computers to join them to the domain.

• A & PTR Records - These DNS terms are used to signify records kept in DNS that act as memory of locations on a domain. These records will 'point' you towards a computer or server based on IP address or hostname.

Overview of Lab

• In this lab, we first configured our firewall server. Next, we configured our workstation and AD server and created a domain called jack.local. From here, we configured our server management server, and began configuring our domain and servers. This lab was building the foundation of our multi-server domain/network.
