Santa's Elf is a traveller from the North Pole who has come due to the beckoning of player in the Minecraft world. Summoned using a Santa's Elf Bell, he brings good tidings and decorations that players can use emeralds to buy. He also has a request for you to complete if you wish to do so.

Santa's Elf Bell

Santa's Elf is summoned using a Santa's Elf Bell. This is created by crafting an Enchanted Candy Cane together with a bell. Holding right-click will cause the bell to ring, and after it completes, a Santa's Elf will spawn directly in front of the player. The bell also goes on cooldown for 20 minutes, or 1 Minecraft day.

Behaviour

Santa's Elf will stick around for 1 Minecraft day. He sells ornaments and other Christmas items (e.g. food, sheet music) which can be bought using emeralds. He also sells a new Santa's Elf Bell, which can be bought for 64 emeralds (or less, depending on whether he's affected by the Christmas Star).

After Santa has been summoned and his respective event has been completed, Santa's Elf will begin to buyback any excess ornaments you may have. Use this opportunity to earn some Emeralds on the side, or just clear out your inventory in general!

Toy Part Request

Santa's Elf hasn't just come to Minecraft just to sell you things; he also needs some items for the workshop for them to create presents! You can buy a Toy Part Request from him (1 emerald, you get it back at the end) which lists a bunch of items he needs for the workshop.

When you have a stack of items corresponding to the item on the list, and also more than or equal to the amount of items specified, you can toss it to Santa's Elf and he will take it (with change!).

Toy Part Requests can be updated by tossing it to the Santa's Elf as well for you to track your progress.

Once you have completed the Toy Part Request, you can toss the request back to him and he will give you your reward!

Completing the request gives you a chance to receive the Santa's Elf Ornament, along some other ornaments and an enchanted item.
